Getting in to Nature
The mountains of this region were one a volcanic hotspot, dating back around 26 million years!
As you travel through the different areas you'll notice a change in the natural vegetation of the region.
Tamborine Mountain is known for its lush subtropical rainforest.
Binna Burra and O'Reilly's are made up of high-altitude rainforest - keep an eye out for the gnarled and moss covered trunks of the Antarctic beech.
In the higher rainfall areas of Spicer's Gap and Tamborine Mountain you'll see Eucalypt Forest.
Around 25 minutes drive from Beaudesert and overlooked by the Razorback Mountain and Lamington Plateau, the valleys of the Lost World will captivate you with green pastures, tangled forest, rock pools and running rivers.
Adventure & Activity
Whether you are interested in land or water sports, the Scenic Rim has plenty of action and adventure activities to choose from. Try your hand at water-skiing, kayaking or throw in a fishing line at Lake Maroon or Lake Moogerah. At Mt Joyce Recreation Park you can enjoy bike trails, hiking or horse riding. For the really adventurous, head to Queensland Moto Park for the sport of motocross.
