Fancy a trip to the gallery? Take the kids these school holidays, at QAGOMA (Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art) there’s always something to engage children at the QAGOMA Children’s Art Centre.
The interactive installations and artist projects and activities have been designed by QAGOMA alongside artists and are suitable for children and families.
It’s all FREE at the Children’s Art Centre, making art accessible for everyone.
The Current Programs are:
Ah Xian: Naturephysica 28 May to 3 Oct 2016
This interactive project was designed with the assistance of Chinese-born Australian artists As Xian. The multimedia projects allows children to see their own bodies adorned by projected patterns and landscapes from Australia and China, exploring being part of two cultures. Plus there’s a drawing activity.
The Gabori Sisters: Gathering by the Sea 25 June 2016 to 12 February 2017
Created with collaboration from Sally Gabori’s daughters, this hands-on making and multimedia activity introduces young ones to the relationship the Kaiadilt aboriginal people share with the sea and the creatures within it.
